Description
A refreshing and vibrant Blueberry Lemonade recipe combining fresh lemon juice, sweet blueberries, and honey for natural sweetness. Perfect for a quick, hydrating drink on warm days, this homemade lemonade can be customized with sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Lemonade
- 5 lemons, juiced
- 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 4 cups water (or 2 cups water and 2 cups sparkling water)
For Garnish
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh lemon slices
- Ice (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Juice the 5 lemons thoroughly to collect fresh lemon juice. Have your honey, fresh blueberries, and water ready.
- Blend the Base: Add the lemon juice, honey, fresh blueberries, and 1 cup of the water (only still water, not sparkling) into a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
- Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove blueberry skins and pulp, ensuring a smooth lemonade texture.
- Mix and Dilute: Add the remaining water to the pitcher (use sparkling water now if desired) and stir well to combine all flavors evenly.
- Serve and Garnish: Pour the lemonade into glasses over ice, if preferred. Garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices for an attractive and flavorful finish. Optionally top off with more sparkling water for extra fizz.
Notes
- Using vegan honey substitutes makes this recipe vegan-friendly.
- Straining the blended mixture is important for a smooth drink without pulp.
- For a bubbly version, replace half the still water with sparkling water after blending.
- Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey to taste.
- Serve immediately or keep chilled for up to 2 days for best freshness.
