Ingredients
Scale
Fries
- 1 pound frozen crispy French fries
- cooking spray
- salt and black pepper to taste
Buffalo Chicken Topping
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
- 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Finishing Touches
- 1/3 cup creamy ranch dressing, plus more for drizzling
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare fries: Preheat your oven according to the French fry package instructions. Lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Spread the frozen fries in an even layer to ensure they bake evenly and get crispy.
- Bake fries: Place the baking sheet with fries in the oven and bake until the fries are golden brown and crispy, following the package’s suggested time for best results.
- Prepare buffalo chicken: While the fries are baking, toss the cooked chicken breast with the buffalo wing sauce and melted butter until the chicken pieces are evenly coated with the spicy buttery mixture.
- Season fries: Once fries are cooked, remove the baking sheet from the oven and season lightly with salt and black pepper to enhance the flavors.
- Assemble buffalo chicken fries: Evenly scatter the buffalo chicken over the crispy fries. Then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese generously on top of the chicken and fries.
- Melt cheese: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly golden, about 5–7 minutes more.
- Finish and serve: Remove the loaded fries from the oven and immediately drizzle with creamy ranch dressing. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- You can use air-fried fries instead of oven-baked fries for an extra crispy texture.
- Blue cheese dressing can be substituted for ranch dressing if you prefer a stronger flavor.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the buffalo chicken mixture before assembling.
