Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasonings
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. black pepper
Dairy and Sauces
- 10.5 oz. cheddar cheese condensed soup
- 8 oz. sour cream
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Other Ingredients
- ¾ cup bacon, cooked and chopped
- 32 oz. frozen tater tots (kept frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Cook Ground Beef: Place uncooked ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir frequently until the beef is thoroughly browned. Drain excess grease carefully to avoid a greasy casserole.
- Season Beef: Add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the cooked beef in the skillet. Stir well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
- Mix in Creamy Ingredients: Incorporate the cheddar cheese condensed soup, sour cream, cooked chopped bacon, and milk into the beef mixture. Mix thoroughly so every piece of beef is coated with the creamy sauce.
- Transfer Mixture to Pan: Pour the beef and sauce mixture into the prepared 9×13 baking pan, spreading it evenly.
- Add Tater Tots and Cheese: Add the frozen tater tots and shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture. Use a spatula to gently mix everything until the tater tots and cheese are evenly coated and distributed throughout the casserole.
- Bake: Spread the casserole mixture evenly in the pan to ensure uniform baking. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until bubbling around the edges and the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve hot for optimal flavor and comfort.
Notes
- Be sure to keep tater tots frozen before adding to casserole to ensure crispiness after baking.
- Drain excess grease from ground beef well to avoid a greasy casserole.
- You can substitute bacon with cooked sausage or omit for a simpler version.
- For extra cheesiness, sprinkle additional cheddar cheese on top before baking.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes after baking to help it set for easier serving.
