Description

This Cheesecake Crescent Rolls Casserole is an easy, creamy, and buttery dessert that combines soft crescent roll dough with a sweetened cream cheese filling. Baked to golden perfection and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, this delightful casserole is perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) crescent roll dough

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Layer the First Crescent Roll Dough: Press one can of crescent roll dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, making sure to seal any perforations to create a solid base layer.
  3. Prepare and Spread the Cream Cheese Filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the crescent roll base.
  4. Add the Top Crescent Roll Layer: Stretch the second can of crescent roll dough over the cream cheese filling, adjusting it to fit the dish, and press lightly to cover the filling completely.
  5. Apply Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Brush the melted butter evenly over the top layer of dough. Then sprinkle a mixture of the remaining ½ cup granulated sugar combined with 1 teaspoon cinnamon over the buttered surface.
  6. Bake the Casserole: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Once baked, let the casserole cool for at least 20 minutes to set before slicing into 12 servings and serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to ensure a smooth filling without lumps.
  • If you prefer, you can dust the top with powdered sugar after baking for extra sweetness.
  • This casserole is best served slightly warm or at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 3-4 days.
  • For a twist, add fresh berries or fruit preserves on top before baking.
