Description

Cheesy Garlic Pull Apart Rolls are a deliciously easy appetizer or snack perfect for sharing. Soft buttermilk biscuit dough is rolled into balls, tossed in a flavorful garlic butter mixture with Italian seasoning and mozzarella cheese, then baked until golden and gooey. These pull-apart rolls are warm, cheesy, and infused with garlic flavor, making them an irresistible treat for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

  • 2 cans (7.5 ounces each) buttermilk biscuits

For the Seasoning and Cheese

  • 4 Tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 9-inch glass pie plate with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Dough Balls: Open the biscuit cans and cut each biscuit in half. Roll each half into a small ball and place all the dough balls into a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Coat with Butter and Seasonings: Pour the melted butter over the dough balls. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and garlic powder evenly on top. Gently toss the dough balls to coat them thoroughly with the butter and seasonings.
  4. Add Cheese and Toss: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough balls. Toss gently again to evenly distribute the cheese throughout the dough.
  5. Arrange in Pan and Top with Cheese: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pie plate and spread into one even layer. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  6. Bake: Place the pie plate into the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 to 24 minutes, or until the rolls turn golden brown and the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm for the best cheesy, garlicky pull-apart experience. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the pie plate to ensure even baking.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with other melty cheeses like cheddar or Monterey Jack for variation.
  • Serve these rolls immediately after cooling slightly for the best texture and flavor.
  • For an extra garlic kick, you can brush a little additional garlic butter on top before serving.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes if needed.
