Description

Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Bake is a creamy, comforting casserole perfect for family dinners. This easy-to-make recipe combines tender chicken, nutritious broccoli, and rich Alfredo sauce over perfectly cooked fettuccine, baked to golden cheesy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein and Vegetables

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

Pasta and Sauces

  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Cheeses and Seasonings

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pasta: Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the broccoli: If using fresh broccoli, steam or blanch the florets until just tender. If using frozen, thaw and drain any excess water.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, broccoli, Alfredo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well to evenly coat the ingredients.
  4. Assemble the bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, spread half the cooked pasta in an even layer. Pour half of the chicken and broccoli Alfredo mixture on top. Repeat layers with the remaining pasta and mixture. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
  5. Add cheeses: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly over the assembled casserole.
  6. Bake the dish: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly and lightly golden.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove the bake from the oven, let it sit for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the chicken with turkey or omit it for a vegetarian version.
  • For a lower-fat version, use light Alfredo sauce and reduced-fat cheeses.
  • Fresh broccoli gives the best texture, but frozen works fine as well.
  • To make homemade Alfredo sauce, combine butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese over medium heat until thickened.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking; just increase baking time to ensure it’s heated through.
