Description

This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a rich and comforting Italian-inspired main dish featuring tender pasta coated in a luscious sauce made with butter, fresh garlic, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Garnished with fresh parsley, it makes a perfect vegetarian meal that’s quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

pasta

  • 12 oz pasta

sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste

garnish

  • fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Prepare Sauce: Add the heavy cream to the pan with garlic and butter. Simmer gently for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to combine flavors.
  4. Add Parmesan: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Toss Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss well to coat all the noodles evenly.
  6. Season and Garnish: Season the pasta with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For additional protein, add grilled chicken or sautéed shrimp to the pasta.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to make this dish gluten-free if desired.
  • To lighten the dish, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
