Description

A refreshing and nutritious Greek Yogurt Parfait layered with creamy Greek yogurt, fresh mixed berries, crunchy granola, and optional chia seeds. Perfect for a healthy breakfast or a light dessert, this parfait offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures with optional add-ins for customization.

Ingredients

Scale

Greek Yogurt Parfait

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup granola (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional, for added nutrition)
  • A few mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Optional Add-ins/Toppings

  • Sliced banana
  • Shredded coconut
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Cinnamon or vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the berries: Wash the fresh berries thoroughly. Slice larger berries like strawberries into smaller pieces for easy layering. Combine the berries in a bowl and set aside extra for garnish.
  2. Mix the yogurt: Stir the Greek yogurt in a small bowl until smooth and creamy. If desired, mix in honey or maple syrup to add sweetness and a subtle floral note.
  3. Layer the parfait – first layer: Spoon a few tablespoons of the yogurt into the bottom of a glass or jar, using individual serving glasses or a large container depending on your preference.
  4. Add berries: Spread a layer of mixed fresh berries evenly over the yogurt to add color and flavor.
  5. Add granola and chia seeds: Spoon granola on top of the berries for crunch. Sprinkle chia seeds over the granola for extra nutrition, including omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
  6. Repeat layers: Continue layering yogurt, berries, and granola until reaching the top of your container. Finish with a drizzle of honey or syrup, fresh berries, and a mint leaf garnish.
  7. Chill (optional): Refrigerate the parfait for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld and serve chilled for a refreshing treat.

Notes

  • Use full-fat or low-fat Greek yogurt depending on your dietary preference.
  • Honey or maple syrup can be adjusted or omitted for sweetness.
  • Granola can be homemade or store-bought; choose your favorite variety.
  • Chia seeds add nutrition but can be skipped if preferred.
  • Layering in clear glasses or jars enhances presentation.
  • Optional toppings like nuts, banana, coconut, or chocolate chips add texture and flavor variety.
  • Chilling enhances flavor fusion but parfaits can also be served immediately.
