Ingredients
Scale
Greek Yogurt Parfait
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- 1/2 cup granola (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional, for added nutrition)
- A few mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Optional Add-ins/Toppings
- Sliced banana
- Shredded coconut
- Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
- Dark chocolate chips
- Cinnamon or vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the berries: Wash the fresh berries thoroughly. Slice larger berries like strawberries into smaller pieces for easy layering. Combine the berries in a bowl and set aside extra for garnish.
- Mix the yogurt: Stir the Greek yogurt in a small bowl until smooth and creamy. If desired, mix in honey or maple syrup to add sweetness and a subtle floral note.
- Layer the parfait – first layer: Spoon a few tablespoons of the yogurt into the bottom of a glass or jar, using individual serving glasses or a large container depending on your preference.
- Add berries: Spread a layer of mixed fresh berries evenly over the yogurt to add color and flavor.
- Add granola and chia seeds: Spoon granola on top of the berries for crunch. Sprinkle chia seeds over the granola for extra nutrition, including omega-3 fatty acids and fiber.
- Repeat layers: Continue layering yogurt, berries, and granola until reaching the top of your container. Finish with a drizzle of honey or syrup, fresh berries, and a mint leaf garnish.
- Chill (optional): Refrigerate the parfait for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld and serve chilled for a refreshing treat.
