Description

This Homemade Cheeseburger Sheet Pan Pizza combines the favorite flavors of a classic cheeseburger with the convenience of a crispy, golden sheet pan pizza. Featuring seasoned ground beef, tangy ketchup and mustard sauce, melty cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and topped with crunchy pickles and fresh veggies, this easy-to-make pizza is perfect for a family dinner or weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef Topping

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Pizza Base and Toppings

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (or homemade, enough for one sheet pan)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup dill pickle slices
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh lettuce (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a sheet pan with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the ground beef seasoned with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  3. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough to fit your sheet pan and press it evenly into the corners for an even crust.
  4. Parbake Crust: Bake the dough on the sheet pan for 7–8 minutes until the crust just begins to set but is not fully cooked.
  5. Add Sauce and Cheese: Remove the crust from the oven and spread ketchup and mustard evenly over it as the sauce base. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the sauce.
  6. Assemble Toppings: Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef over the cheese, then add the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Top with diced red onion and dill pickle slices.
  7. Bake Pizza: Return the sheet pan to the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove pizza from oven and top with chopped tomatoes and chopped fresh lettuce if using. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish if desired.
  9. Serve: Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing into 8 pieces and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute Thousand Island dressing for ketchup and mustard for a different flavor profile.
  • For an extra savory twist, add cooked bacon bits on top before baking.
  • Add the fresh lettuce only after baking to maintain its crispness and freshness.
