Description

This Homemade Coffee Creamer recipe offers 13 delicious flavor variations made from simple ingredients like half & half, heavy cream, sugar, and a variety of natural extracts and spices. It is a quick and easy way to elevate your daily coffee routine with rich, creamy, and customizable flavors, all prepared on the stovetop in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups half & half (see notes for dairy-free alternatives)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (see notes for dairy-free alternatives)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (see notes for sugar-free alternatives)

Flavor Additions and Extracts

  • 3 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • 2 tbsp hazelnut extract
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 tbsp caramel extract
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ tsp butter extract
  • 1 tbsp coconut extract
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp espresso powder
  • ¼ tsp almond extract
  • 2 tbsp canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp maple extract
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp butter extract
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp almond extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Base Ingredients: Whisk together the half & half, heavy cream, and granulated sugar in a medium saucepan until well mixed.
  2. Add Flavor Additions and Heat: Add all flavor components except for the extracts to the saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat until it begins to steam, the sugar dissolves fully, and the creamer appears smooth and well combined.
  3. Incorporate Extracts: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in all the extracts thoroughly to distribute the flavors evenly.
  4. Cool and Store: Allow the creamer to cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a mason jar or a container with a lid. Store the creamer in the refrigerator for up to 7 days and shake well before each use.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute half & half and heavy cream with coconut milk or almond milk creamers.
  • For a sugar-free version, replace granulated sugar with a sugar substitute such as erythritol or stevia according to package instructions.
  • Shake the creamer well before each use, as natural separation may occur during storage.
  • The creamer will keep fresh in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
  • Adjust the amount of extracts and spices to suit personal taste preferences.
