Description

The Salted Caramel Mudslide is an indulgent cocktail blending smooth Baileys Irish Cream, rich Kahlúa coffee liqueur, and vodka, enhanced by luscious caramel sauce and a salted sugar rim for a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. This creamy, dessert-inspired drink is ideal for a special occasion or a cozy nightcap.

Ingredients

Scale

Rim and Garnish

  • 0.25 oz caramel sauce (for rimming)
  • Raw sugar (for rimming)
  • Pinch of sea salt (for topping)

Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1.5 oz Kahlúa
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • 0.25 oz caramel sauce (for inside the glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Pour half the caramel sauce (about 0.25 oz) onto a small plate. Dip the rim of your glass into the caramel, coating it evenly to help the sugar stick.
  2. Coat with Sugar: Spread raw sugar on another plate. Dip the caramel-coated rim of the glass into the sugar to create a sweet, crunchy crust.
  3. Caramel Inside the Glass: Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce (about 0.25 oz) inside the glass and gently swirl it around to coat the interior, giving the drink extra caramel flavor with each sip.
  4. Mix the Cocktail: In a shaker filled with ice, combine Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlúa, and vodka. Shake well until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.
  5. Pour the Drink: Fill the prepared glass halfway with ice. Strain the shaken cocktail over the ice to keep it perfectly cool without watering it down.
  6. Finish with Salt: Garnish the top of the cocktail with a pinch of sea salt to enhance the salted caramel flavor and balance the sweetness.

Notes

  • Use good quality caramel sauce for the best flavor and consistency.
  • Make sure the glass is chilled to keep the drink colder for longer.
  • Adjust the amount of sea salt according to taste, but do not skip it as it complements the caramel perfectly.
  • This cocktail can be made in larger batches by multiplying the ingredients.
  • Serve immediately for optimal texture and flavor.
