Description
Tender beef stew meat and baby Yukon gold potatoes slow-cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, seasoned with onion and garlic powder for a comforting, hearty meal perfect for any day.
Ingredients
Scale
Meat
- 2 pounds beef stew meat
Vegetables
- 1½ pounds baby Yukon gold potatoes
Seasonings
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
Other
- 5 tablespoons butter, cut into pads
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
- Add Ingredients: Place the beef stew meat on one side of the slow cooker and arrange the baby Yukon gold potatoes on the opposite side. This separation helps even cooking of both components.
- Season: Sprinkle onion powder, garlic powder, and seasoned salt evenly over both the meat and potatoes. Gently toss the beef bites to coat them well with the seasoning, being careful to keep them separate from the potatoes.
- Add Garlic and Butter: Evenly distribute the chopped garlic over both the beef and the potatoes. Then place the butter pads evenly on top to melt during cooking, infusing the dish with rich garlic butter flavor.
- Cook: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on LOW for 6 hours, or until the beef is fall-apart tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
- Serve: Serve the beef bites and potatoes hot, drizzling the garlic butter sauce from the slow cooker over the top. Optionally garnish with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan cheese for added flavor and presentation.
Notes
- For extra flavor, garnish with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
- If you prefer, you can use a different type of small potato, but baby Yukon golds hold their shape well.
- Ensure the slow cooker lid fits tightly to maintain moisture during cooking.
- Adjust seasoning to taste; add more garlic or seasoned salt as preferred.
- This dish pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
