Scale
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 8 fresh lemons
- 1/4 cup simple syrup or liquid honey
- 4 cups water or sparkling water
- Ice, as needed
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon: Chop the watermelon into 1 inch cubes, carefully removing the peel and any large seeds to ensure a smooth blend.
- Juice Lemons: Juice the fresh lemons thoroughly to extract all the lemon juice needed for the lemonade base.
- Blend Ingredients: Place the watermelon cubes, lemon juice, and simple syrup or honey in a blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher to remove pulp, resulting in about 4 cups of watermelon lemonade concentrate.
- Mix and Serve: To serve, combine equal parts of watermelon lemonade concentrate and cold water in a pitcher over ice. Alternatively, pour 1/2 cup of concentrate over ice in individual glasses and top off with water or sparkling water. Garnish with lemon slices before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute simple syrup with liquid honey for a natural sweetener.
- Using sparkling water instead of still water adds a fizzy twist.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup or honey, depending on your taste preferences.
- For a thicker texture, skip straining or use less water when mixing.
- This lemonade is best served chilled and consumed within 2 days for optimum freshness.
