- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup pickles, diced
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 package (12 count) slider buns
- Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Garnishes
- Lettuce
- Tomato
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the assembled sliders.
- Cook Beef and Onion: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onions are soft, then drain any excess fat.
- Season Beef: Season the cooked beef mixture with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the cooked beef, shredded cheddar cheese, diced pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup until evenly combined.
- Prepare Buns: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the halves together to create a base and top for each slider.
- Assemble Sliders: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a greased baking dish, evenly spread the beef mixture over them, then place the top halves on top.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese.
- Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the slider tops are golden brown.
- Cool and Slice: Let the sliders cool for a few minutes before slicing into individual portions.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally top with lettuce and tomato slices before serving to add freshness and color.
Notes
- Drain excess fat from the cooked beef to avoid greasy sliders.
- You can customize the toppings by adding pickled jalapeños for extra heat.
- Use freshly baked slider buns for best texture.
- These sliders can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially with salt and pepper.
